Decal printing

Ornandum tableware printing uses screen printing technology and has many advantages – print quality, unlimited print area, number of colors and, without a doubt, this printing technology is the most durable type of printing.

We offer a wide range of porcelain and glass tableware and are the only printing factory in Latvia that is PVD certified as compatible with food. When printing dishes, there are various useful tips and aspects that should be taken into account and are discussed in this section.

DESIGN PLACEMENT ON THE DISH
There are no significant area restrictions for printing dishes using decal technology. We can print the outside of the dish from one or both sides, all around, the inside of the dish, and it is also possible to print such elements as the edge, handle, foot, bottom of the dish. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR PREPARATION OF FILES
For printing with decal technology, you can use a logo, text, any graphic drawing, as long as it is available in digital format.

Print files must be prepared in vector graphics .eps, .ai, .svg or .pdf format, converting letters into a drawing.

To ensure the quality of the drawing, it is advisable to observe the following conditions:

Minimum line thickness – 0.2 mm positive, 0.4 mm negative.
Minimum font size – 7 pt. positive, 10 pt. negative.
If you plan to use an image in the decoration, the file must be 300 dots per inch (dpi) in actual metric size – so if the print area is 5 x 5cm, it must also be 5x5cm @ 300dpi = 591×591 px (not 5x5cm @ 72dpi converted to 300dpi, which would be only 142x142px). The image format must be .psd, .jpeg, .png or .tif.

Files can be submitted electronically via e-mail order@ornandum.lv or by delivering them to us on physical media or using large-format data transfer services such as Faliem.lv, Wetransfer.com, Dropbox.

PRINTING OF Crockery – COLORS
It is preferable to specify the colors intended for the decoration of the dish according to the Pantone PMS solid coated color catalog. The Pantone color code visible on the computer monitor does not ensure proper recognition of the color, therefore, the printed Pantone catalog must be used for selection, which will be used as an equivalent when producing the appropriate porcelain color. If the product requires particularly precise shade nuances, the color must be coordinated by making a product sample or by coming to our factory and choosing a color from the ready-made color samples. The specifics of professional high-fired porcelain colors differ from printing colors. Attention - the colors on your computer screen (due to computer settings) may differ from the final print result.

PRINTING OF DISHES - PRICE
Each order is individual. To calculate the printing price, we suggest using the Printing Price section of the website or sending us a request to e-mail order@ornandum.lv, indicating the desired print run, adding a design (or specifying the number of colors in the design) and adding information about the container to be printed.

PRINTING TIME
The printing time depends on the print run, the standard printing time is 5 - 8 working days. In urgent cases, please ask us about the possibilities, but it should be noted that the minimum technological process for printing is 3 full working days.

SAMPLE PRODUCTION
If necessary, we can produce a print sample. The sample preparation time is 3-5 working days. The sample cost depends on the number of colors in the design, starting from 30 euros excluding VAT for 1 color. In the case of an order, the sample cost is deducted from the total order amount.
